Podcast 3: Ice Cream Makers, Mountain Biking, and Formspring

Ice Cream Makers:
The maker I have is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-ICE-20-Automatic-2-Quart-Ice-Cream/dp/B00000JGRT
As I have said in the podcast, there are many types and this is just one of the many ice cream makers.
The recipe is included with the maker, I'm sure there are more online, however.

Mountain Bikes:
Here's all you need to know to buy your first bike if interested: http://www.dirtworld.com/TipsAndTricks/TipsStory.asp?id=35
Personally I would buy a full suspension bike, it is much more forgiving on errors and more fun to ride.

Formspring:
Here's my source for the suicide, you can read more in other places as well: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2010/03/25/2010-03-25_li_teens_suicide_linked_to_cruel_cyberbullies_police.html

Podcast 1: RC, Computers, and more

    Droid Rooting:
So what rooting does it it gives you more access to the base level of the Android operating system, allowing you to override kernel limitations and install custom themes, apps, and other non-motorola endorsed things. This is just like jailbreaking your ipod or iphone.
Here is the link for installing a hacked kernel VIA the installer app: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/topic/526-cyanogenmod-for-droid-v5042-03122010/
After this, you will need to download WifiTether for the Droid, or it may come preinstalled with cyanogenmod: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list

Note: if you want to run 2.1 firmware, you will need to first download the rooted firmware 2.0.1, flash the firmware with RSDlite,  and then download firmware 2.1 and update that, 2.1 has not been officially rooted yet and you will need to update and exploit a technicality in their security.
    http://rootyourdroid.info/guides/obtaining-root/

To clarify, there is ONE way to ROOT the droid, however there are many ways to put a custom ROM and kernel on the droid, most of which have the requisites for the WifiTether app. The way I explain is foolproof, and is easy as it is installed from an app you download from the marketplace. Any other ways may not work.
